Strands - Covered in aluminum for electrical use
Since 1988 Emcocables has produced aluminized cables and strands through continuous aluminum extrusion.
The process begins when the high carbon wire, thinned to make cable, covered in aluminum primary 1350, then thinned again to the desired diameter, lastly, it is thinned again to meet the customer’s construction needs.
Emcocables S.A.’s aluminum products are used mainly for elevated wires, message strands, nucleuses for ACSR/AS (AW) conductors, premolded products, and buried fiber optic cables, better known as OPGW.
In addition to the strands made under the ASTM B 416 standards, Emcocables has developed ALUSHIELD strands in order to replace Class C galvanized products, with products with higher resistance, and break force, while weighing less and with a smoother surface.
