Strands - Galvanized messengers for telephonic cables
The galvanized strand used as a messenger as support for a figure 8 is covered by means of dipping in a compound sealer. This is done before the plastic cover is placed. The compound is applied to each individual wire while during the braiding process just before being joined. This, in conjunction with the thermoplastic covering guarantees that no moisture will come in contact with the cable. This plastic is applied to the finished strand.
